I grew up in West Texas. When most people that are not from West Texas think about West Texas, they probably conjure up images of desolation, blowing dust, and tumbleweeds. While those images aren't the most accurate representation of the area, they are actually present in the landscape.
Well ... I'm taking an outsiders view on MySpace. A place that used to be dynamic and exciting is now static and boring. The tumbleweeds are stacking up in the right-hand corner of my MySpace page and I'm ready for a change in scenery.
Enter Facebook and Blogger.com.
The two things that I liked about MySpace when I first joined were, 1) I was able to stay in touch with what was going on in people's lives that I didn't see often and 2) I had an outlet to express myself in the blog tool. Now that no one is on MySpace, 1) I have no idea what anyone is up to and 2) no one reads my blog, so I feel like I'm talking to myself.
I resisted the temptation to join Facebook because I suspected that I would spend way too much time checking my page. However, I finally decided that the benefit of staying in touch outweighed the cost of time spent checking my page. So far so good. I am spending too much time checking updates, but I've reconnected with some people that had a large impact on my life growing up, and that's a good thing.
Since there is no blog feature on Facebook, I created this site from Lisa's blogger account. She does a great job with the Parsons' Family Blog site keeping everyone up to date on what Claire and her mom and dad have been up to. Her site is linked at right if you want to check it out. It's worth it ... Claire's a cutie!
So here's the new site. I'll probably add at least a couple of blogs per month based on how compelled I feel to write. Hopefully some of you will enjoy reading my thoughts.

Yeah, Brad! You switched over to the "dark" side. I enjoy reading your thoughts. I too have had fun hooking up with old friends. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. :)
